As a part of the City & Guilds 6055 there is the opportunity for a competent lead worker to gain a qualification, which recognises their skills, and experience without going back to school. This route/method for gaining a qualification is becoming increasingly important as the construction industry drives towards a fully trained and qualified work force. The APL scheme would also open up the opportunity for experienced workers who gain the qualification to use it as evidence towards the Metal Roofing NVQ which would allow for the all important Construction Skills CSCS card to be issued.
