Britain’s only Centre of Excellence for leadworkers in the UK construction industry

LSA Training CentreContinuing a noble craftsmanship that stretches back several centuries the Training Centre will help you develop a skill that uses a building material that is green, environmentally friendly and aesthetically attractive for today’s modern structures.

Through your training you will have the ability to turn an architect’s designs into touchable reality.

Turn into a craftsman with leadworker skills.

A craftsman, not a roofer

A skilled leadworker deserves a better title than roofer. Lead roofing in all its forms will outlast any of its modern alternatives by hundreds of years – but only if it is properly installed.

That’s where the training you will receive makes a difference and changes you from a roofer to a highly skilled craftsman.

Once you have learnt the simple rules of how to use the material correctly; how to shape and boss, how to weld and dress, how to size, fix and set out, you will be on your way to being a skilled Lead craftsman.

The courses available take you through from basic skills to a City & Guilds full qualification, but the structure is sufficiently flexible to be tailored to the needs of students, for example taking account of prior knowledge and focussing on a special skill requirement.  To find out more , go to Courses and seminars

Lead Sheet Association

The Lead Sheet Association is sponsored by the individual manufacturers of the generic product (Rolled Lead Sheet to BSEN 12588) who have collectively made this long-term investment in training. The aim being to ensure that best design and application practice continues to result in the long-term performance of their product.

The LSA provides the ultimate technical authority for Lead Sheet applications in UK construction. LSA technical officers provide direct technical advice in support of details illustrated in the Manual referred to above and will also visit sites to advise on specific issues.
Advice with supporting literature and documentation is available to architects, designers, supervisors, contractors and others.
